My biggest complaint with the book that drove me nuts the entire time was the lack of evidence based arguments. Tomasi would state that some study showed x, but then it is not referenced and the study is barely described. I found maybe one or two points in the book where he actually did do this. But a book like this should have at least 50-100 sources to back up these claims. He used his credentials of an undergraduate degree, which is essentially useless, in lieu of having to do that. He also uses buzzwords to make it sound more scientific, but he scarified flow and clarity in doing so. Really unnecessary and made him sound like a novice writer. There were also a number of spelling errors and editing issues that needed to be addressed before this saw the light of day.I agree with the content because I've read many other books in the domain of evolutionary biology, so Tomasi isn't entirely wrong in the content. Which is good. However, if you want to be legitimate and make the sort of claims you are making, you need to back them up with solid science. And show where those references are from. This was an attempt by a blogger, who lacked formal training in writing and research, to sound legitimate. Ironically, this is exactly what feminists do, they make claims that support some confounded idea without any evidence based arguments to back it up. If you want to be better than them, you need to improve on your writing and research. I would recommend other books before this one or I would supplement this book with say 'The Red Queen: Sex and Evolution' or 'Mating Mind'. This isn't terrible and could be a nice entry point for further study, but further study is absolutely necessary.

Must read for every man out there.My upbringing did not do me a favour. This opened my eyes to see the world completely different and my role I have to play in it. I am much more comfortable with myself and it improved every area in my life.Biggest influence in the shortest time ever in my marriage. Best part is that I did not tell my wife to behave differently. The improvement in my marriage happened naturally.We did not go to counselling like before, we did not try to improve our communication, we did not spend more time together, I did not buy more gifts, I did not do more chores in the house. I had to become a Man.Still some hard and dirty work to do on myself. But WOW......I see the results that I love.

I purchased this book because I had received many recommendations, claiming that this book is offering invaluable, often overlooked, and not understood insight into relationships. However, this philosophy is nothing new. It is the same red-pill, incel, etc. nonsense which claims to have some secret, innovative, genius-level knowledge about the biological instincts of women, despite the frequent inability of the author to spell words correctly and use proper grammar.Perhaps this is helpful for men who hate women, and thus feel that all women are out to get them and make the "nice guys" care for the children of the females' previous "alpha" partners, claiming women seek men purely for their financial value. But, for someone seeking genuine relationship advice that is not based on some pseudo-scientific, crackpot, paleolithic conception of human relationships, you should probably look elsewhere.

I’m 53. I wish this book had been available to me as a young man starting out 30 plus years ago. So many of the pitfalls of dating and relationships could have been avoided. I have to warn prospective readers of one thing: you will never see the world in the same way again. This can be massively uncomfortable at times, particularly in a marriage. That being said, the discomfort is well worth it. On to books 2 and 3. Thanks, Rollo.

I was recommended this book from a friend not out of necessity but because he knew I would actually have an open mind when reading it. Over the course of the last year I've read over 20 books and this is my favorite to date.Some theories that Rollo suggests may cause shock and even piss you off and cause you to stop reading it altogether. But I feel it is a must read for any man trying to improve himself both personally and professionally.I will say be careful about who you speak to the theories of this book with. Not everyone is ready to be unplugged from the "Matrix" and you might be met with some resistance and may even cause insecurities to come out from those less enlightened to hear what you have to say.

This was a big help in getting over myself and opening the door in letting the truism of a higher power fill the void of what once was my anger. While this particular read impacted me more with everyday life in dealing with everyone (people, places, things, and events), it helped quiet me down from my high horse of always blaming others for the way I thought and felt and how I thought how I felt, to a place that definitely helped bring me along towards a way of being happy, joyous, and free.

Very good wisdom & insight about healthy relationships. He talked most about spouses but I put “others” in place of “spouse”, or “partner” because the material can work in healthy communication with anyone. It’s theme is basically about taking responsibility for your own feelings & letting others do the same but it’s also packed with more tools to use to getting along with others. Very good book. I read w friends in a book study & it produced excellent & productive discussions. I will read again & again.

Dr. Paul O's original story is one of those in the Big Book of AA. Although this book is not AA or Alanon literature, this man quotes them quite often and he gives them the credit for his and his wife's recovery. It's clear, concise and easy to understand and apply. This is for those who have the physical addiction to alcohol under control and moved to the spot where Alanon folks start out. It's fighting the emotional alcoholism, a term I had never heard before, but when I mentioned it in Alanon, the long-timers understood it well. Why should I "allow" anyone else's actions to control me? I have a choice. A quote from the book: "What if you made up your mind that from now on for the rest of your life, you alone would decide how you are going to feel?" Can I control my feelings? I'm finding I can. My son screams at me and I start to feel hurt and self-pity and I say, "Stop. Don't allow this to destroy your day." I am not going to be the victim. It's working! It has been so invigorating and exciting and I only finished Chapter 2 a few weeks ago. I look at the chapter titles ahead and some of them are: The Basics, Techniques, More Techniques, Still More, Now Simplify, and The End. I recommend this book for anyone that wants to see great improvement in their life outlook.

This is a great book. I have been in recovery for over 8 years and now find that I need a little something extra to add to my program and suffer from allowing others control my serenity.This book makes so much sense and has so much stuff in it that applies to me and that I can use and apply to my life that I am over the moon about it. When I got to Chapter 3, this book totally won me over. I have most of Chapter 3 highlighted because of how much of it applies to me and how much great information there is in it. Dr. Paul references AA and Al-Anon doctrine so, for me, that was another reason to make this purchase.

Excellent insight into the way we communicate with each other - and suggestions about how to get better at it without hurting or getting hurt.

Great Alanon book to help people rethink blame and victim mentality. The author is open, honest and refreshing about telling the struggles in his life and marriage. The most important part, in my opinion, is learning how he overcomes each challenge by taking ownership and control of his emotions ~ not giving his power away to anyone else to "make him feel angry, ______, _______, _______"!

The book is supposedly written for those who have an understanding of PowerShell. I did read a handful of chapters in an introduction prior to jumping into this, but this is very well presented and made setting, securing up and managing my instance of S3 and EC2 servers a breeze. You will save yourself hours of searching (even if you're good at it) and it will cover things that the hunt and peck searches simply don't touch on. Over the course of a weekend I was able to set-up and implement everything I needed. Highly recommend.

I found Brian's work to be extremely helpful as both an introduction to Amazon Web Services and specifically using Windows PowerShell to elastically control the AWS cloud environment. By working each of the examples given in the book over the course of a month, along with taking the CBT Nuggets courses on AWS, I was able to pass the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level exam.

The book is exactly what I wanted. Direct to the point, several good examples for real use cases and the instructions are well written.I recommend this book to any Windows guys (like me) that are going to work with AWS. The time you will save makes it worth every penny.

I'm new to AWS and I was searching for decent book to learn and practice AWS powershell. Following the advice of other reviewers, I purchased this book. The book is very well written, very detailed and yet very "easy reading". I strongly recommend this book and I believe it's a essential book in order to get good understanding and practice of AWS powershell.

Very detailed and covers a lot of material with lots of examples. Was hoping that it would cover Beanstalk, but nothing on this.

It offers a basic description of what Montessori educational professionals do based upon Montessori theory and the rationale for educating kids the Montessori way. Light on theory, it is specific in terms of materials, exercises, and the nature of interactions between educator and student. The author, a Montessori educator, created this book following requests from parents for more information on the methods used in the Montessori setting.She opens the main body of the book with a quote from Maria Montessori: “. . . the child . . . is an acute observer who sees things we cannot imagine he could have seen.” She then lays out in simple terms the rationale for “sensorial materials” used in Montessori-style education. Following are descriptions of several exercises, each summarized in terms of preparation, ages, materials, presentation, purpose, control of error, and language used. The exercises include visual discrimination of dimension, Montessori (solid cylinders, pink tower, knobless cylinders), color discrimination, color tablets, auditory sense, sound boxes, bells, tactile sense, rough and smooth touch boards, rough and smooth tablets, fabrics, smelling boxes and bottles, thermic sense, thermic bottles, thermic tablets, baric sense, baric tablets.A splendid summary of Montessori for the layman.

The book tackles a very interesting and not so common topic of Montessori learning approach. I think it is great that the book is based on the subject as not so much material can be found on it. I also enjoyed reading this book because it is written in a very professional manner, with structure, and overall with passion. I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to learn more about the subject!

This is a good short book that provides you with all the basic information you need to know to start with Montessori. The book is easy to follow and is written professional.

As a novice homeschooler, I really love the quick intro and all the activities. They're all fairly simple and are age appropriate. I have a five year old and two year old and many of the activities will be used for both.

I bought as a friend of mine is considering putting her son into a Montesori type school. She asked my opinion and I knew nothing about this has given me at least a basic understanding of the approach and sensory stimulation, so for mee it was just what I needed.

I love the Montessori way to teach. It makes for analytical thinkers and problem solvers.

As I am trying to discover and understand the Montessori approach this book gave me some interesting information to put in practice immediately.Thank you!

This is one of those books that I wish I had gotten earlier. So useful in bringing up your children in the right manner. The author deserves kudos for providing such a useful book! This book is so useful during the development years of my child's - in terms of his sensory awareness of the world around him. The book also showed me ways i can have my children cope better with the obstacles or problems. I am very impressed with this book and will recommend it to all the parents for those important years of their children's growth.

I didn't know as much as I would have liked about Passover, and these books were extremely helpful in becoming more familiar with it. Finding new perspectives on the traditional story and ritual was an exciting way to go about learning, and it really helped me connect to the holiday. In addition, the books just provide a great take on women's roles and accomplishments today. I would recommend this book and the Women's Passover Companion to everyone, whether you have thought a lot about Passover and are looking for fresh insights, or are just starting out and looking for meaning in the traditions of Passover.

This was an incredible book. The contributors were very passionate about Judaism and women's issues and incredibly well informed about Passover and connected themes. Some of the pieces were funny and some were serious, some were academic and other were more relaxed, creating a divere mix. This book was great because it can be useful for anyone who appreciates Passover -- religious or secular and everyone in between. It would make a great gift!
