I've been buying funny desk calendars for 3 years now and this one is by far my favorite so far! The pages are made of glossy paper and the sayings are hilarious. My prevoius ones were made of paper and were tough to rip off. This one is great!

This calendar is by far one of the best purchases I've ever made. I work in an office in a hospital (not an office where patients go) and everyone in my department loves it. Everyone reads it every day. I will say that some of the comics aren't appropriate for all settings. If I worked somewhere the general public would see it, I wouldn't set it out every day, but it's perfect for my colleagues and me. I will buy 2018's calendar, if offered.

The cover caught my attention and was worth the purchase. There were one or two so far I felt was not fitting for the office. I am fast becoming a fan of these desk calendars. This one helps lighten the day. I posted the page that says "More Coffee... Less not coffee" by the coffee machine since we actually have a line at our coffee machine (it's a Keurig).

Yah it’s cool. Bought 2 instead of one by mistake -.- also Calendar is solely 2017- which I completely misinterpreted the description. Cool gift, just ehh with spending 16 bucks for something that’s Times gonna expire soon 😳

Not what I expected. I thought the whole calendar would be funny sayings but there are a lot of cartoons. Glad I bought it at a discount. Won't buy it next year.

I used to only have the Far Side daily calendar on my desk. Since they were no longer published, out of sadness, I stopped using desk calendars. This calendar makes me laugh again.

It's not as funny as I'd hoped it would be. A nice feature is that on the back of each day, the paper is a lined note.

The book itself is fine however, the title explicitly states that the Kindle version comes with an access code to the Navigate 2 Essentials site. After extensively searching the book and contacting Amazon I was informed that the Kindle version does not have an access code despite falsely being advertised and sold with the impression that this would be included. If you buy the Kindle version just be aware that you will not gain access to the Navigate 2 Essentials site and will have to find an alternate means to an access code.

I'm currently taking an EMT course and this is definitely the handbook of it all. If you buy the new version, there's an online access code in the back cover that gives you access to online quizzes, summaries, outlined, audio book, etc. for 1year :) Definitely handy for reviewing when you're driving and also when you want to test yourself on the material. The book can also be a paper holder for strong winds and kill spiders, or knock someone down if this was thrown at them (it's thick with knowledge). 0_0

It's a big, fat, expensive book. It's got everything you need to know though! If someone breaks in your house, throw this at them! Then pick up the book and it will tell you exactly how to fix them. If you need it, buy it! Like I said, everything you need to know! It's also good at helping you sleep!

UPDATE: This book DOES come with an access code. HOWEVER, you need to confirm what access code you NEED first. This text book comes with ESSENTIALS access, not ADVANTAGE, PREFERRED or PREMIER. Many EMS classes require PREMIER so you need to make sure you are purchasing what you need.I originally rated this 5 stars. However, I'm changing it to 1. This whole access code nonsense is very deceptive, especially when many people believe it is what they need when it says "Essentials."

The physical version of this textbook is GINORMOUS. I hate carrying heavy textbooks, and prefer to use kindle versions whenever possible, that way I can take my tablet wherever I am and do some reading.Content wise, this version of the textbook has exactly what the physical version has. It is not, however, an exact replica of the page layout of the physical version. I don't really care about that, as long as the content is the same I will get what I need out of the book.One thing to note is that there is NOT an access code with this version. I called the JB Learning and purchased the access code as a standalone. When I bought the access code, I was able to use a discount code. I am not sure if that is something they always do, but it made the overall price of the kindle version textbook and the access code to be less than what the physical textbook would have been - so that is something to think about.As for the textbook itself...all l I can say is that it is a textbook. Course reading is not always exciting, but this book gets the job done, and is an integral part of the EMS training.

Bought brand new in paper back format description said the book had access code to Navigate 2, which it did, however when trying to use the code the website explicitly said the code had already been redeemed. How is this possible? The code should not have expired because the book itself was brand new. Book was great price but without access code it is unnerving and frustrating.

This book is needed for my EMT course...what I love about it most is that theres a scratcher inside..once you scratch it you go to their website, use the code and if you have an mp3 player, you can download the audio which reads each chapter word by word! It was very helpful in my EMT class. The workbook really helps you understand the material.

I love that this book has SO MANY practice questions. I was impressed by how fat it was! Lots of bang for your buck. You get vocabulary matching, 30-40 multiple choice, fill in the blanks, crossword and applied context multiple choice, fill in the bank and short answer questions for each chapter. On some chapters you also have anatomy labeling, It's a great resource for reviewing important material. The questions focus on a mix of vocabulary and essential concepts, but also have critical thinking questions such as a given scenario and logic of problem diagnosis and appropriate interventions.I LOVE THAT THE ANSWER KEY INCLUDES PAGE NUMBERS FROM THE TEXTBOOK SO YOU CAN FIND THE EXPLANATION SO EASILY.It wasn't required for my EMT course, but even if I was cash-strapped I still highly recommend this workbook. Definitely helped me retain information better after reading each chapter and were great for review prior to tests.

I LOVE this series, I adore Neil Gaiman for his deep imagination, and I bought the omnibus collection specifically because I wanted my own copies of the entire series. Omnibus' seemed more practical than individual volumes. Omnibus Volume one is masterfully crafted, I have no concerns over quality and for as large as these books are it truly feels as Volume one will last more than a lifetime. However after feeling and hearing the quality that went into making Omnibus Volume one, Omnibus volume two is completely disappointing. Externally they seem identical, same color pattern, likely same material, etc., so externally it appears as though it'll last as well as the first volume. When opening volume one, you feel the euphoric stiffness of brand new book binding. When opening Volume two, you feel terror that it'll fall apart in your hands. It's really depressing. The front cover swings open easily as though it's been opened thousands of times before, crinkling and cracking the whole time. Laying it on its spine, open to the middle, I find myself very concerned about whether or not it'll hold together. The individual pages seem fine, no printing errors have been noticed, but I may never open it again for fear the pages will soon fall out.

We ordered Volumes 1 and 2, having never read either before but having heard that the series was really good. Volume 1 arrived in great shape, and stayed that way as my wife and I each read through it. It felt durable, and it would easily lays open. But from the very first time we opened Volume 2, the binding has been creaking and cracking, and feels fragile. Unfortunately, the return window had ended by the time we finished Volume 1 and discovered the problems with Volume 2.I'm not even going to attempt to review the story, since that is so subjective, but, if you are someone who likes to curl up in bed with a book, this publication is a little too large and too heavy for that... We did compare our copy to a friend's publication that had the first ten comics, and this publication has crisper images and brighter colors, which make it both beautiful and easier to absorb.(We reviewed Volume I at five stars and Volume 2 at three stars for the durability issues)

Wraps up the second half of the Sandman saga in the second of two volumes- a much more rugged and interesting presentation in this hardcover edition compared to the mass market paperbacks. Looks great on your shelf too. Worth having even if you've already read the story once because of the many references Gaiman threw into this work.

Every time I open this book I fear it may be the last. If you're reading this you're obviously interested in Sandman already so I won't waste your time talking about the story. It's fantastic, we all knew that. Rather, I think it's important to note for new readers that the spine on this book is rather weak. Even though it's more expensive, I would recommend getting the absolute editions instead.

This volume is a work of art, both in presentation and in content. Neil Gaiman's Sandman series is already a known quantity, but even so, the stories still are engaging and frightfully still applicable to contemporary times. Some have complained about the binding. I have not yet experienced any problems with mine. But then, I have only read through it once, and quite carefully.

This will be a collectible. The binding is solid and the pages are laid out well. I know a newer paperback omnibus is out, but for the price difference, this is certainly better. Large, thick paperbacks show a lot of wear and tear, but this one will hold up well.

I LOVE the Sandman series so this review is nothing against the story or artwork itself, more so the way the book was put together. The first volume I bought was perfect, the binding was right and secure and durable.. but this one (the second volume) arrived HORRIBLY intact. The glue is undone on the spine of the book, there was tears and rips between the binding of the spine and cover page.. was really, really disappointing.

This omnibus contains issues 38-75 and is the companion to volume one. Neither of the volumes contain the Dream hunter comic or novel or the Sandman Overture. The orginal price of this volume is 150.00 U.S dollars so getting it cheaper anywhere is a blessing. But if you can find it cheaper its still worth the money. Its a big heavy leather bound collection that would make any Sandman fan happy.

This is one of the most important books to be written, if one desires to gain at least a rudmentary understanding of the Eastern Orthodox Christian perspective of the sacramental life of the believing Body of Christ. While deep enough to satisfy a theology students needs it is not overly professorial. Fr. Alexander moves masterfully through the concepts he desires the reader to gain yet remains understandable to an average lay person. It was a life transforming book for me and continues to be a staple well source of quotations through many years.

I just finished reading this book, and I am very sad that it is finished. I have never read an Orthodox book that was so inspirational and motivating. I couldn't put it down. I have already purchased an additional copy to give as a gift. I can't recommend this book enough.

I am a Protestant/Evangelical Christian, but I have found this book to be deeply enriching and to have contributed a great deal to transforming my understanding of many things. I appreciate both the authors insight, and his gracious tone towards Christians of other persuasions. This book is extremely edifying.

Alexander Schmemann's book is imbued with great passions for a true understanding of the sacraments - as means of grace and pointers to the transformed (and transforming) Christian life in the light of Christ's self-offering to the world. Schmemann poignantly exposes the secular subterfuge of a sacred-profane, religious-secular dichotomy that is inimical to the nerve centre of the Christian view of life as one that belongs wholly to God. What the sacraments do is neither to offer a kind of solace from the 'real world' nor a self-help scheme that dishes out remedies for life's problems. Rather, they are vivid and concrete expressions of the whole life that has now been redeemed by Christ and given back to us for communion. Whereas, the fall has alienated us from God and life and renders food, nature, work, family and life outside the dominion of God, Christ by virtue of his life, death and resurrection has begun to restore all things in God till he be all in all.Expositing the sacrament of Time and the various ordinances/mysteries (Eucharist, Baptism, Chrismation, Confession, Matrimony, Ordination, Unction) in the Orthodox tradition, Schmemann graces us with a passionate guide on how these are not to be co-opted by the world as the innocuous religious rites of hatch, match and despatch but the very windows through which we see the world in the process of being recapitulated by God. Hence, they are intimately connected with the mission and calling of the church to be the witnesses of Christ, who has offered himself as the sacrifice for the life of the world. For example, the Eucharist is the restoration of food as not just something for the stomach but as a means of communion with God. It satisfies our real hunger for God. Sunday is not just a day-off to do religious things, quite independent of the workaday week but the first day of the new creation! It invites us to enter into the Time (kairos) of God's new kingdom inaugurated on the Resurrection morning. While the secularist bemoans that 'there's nothing new under the sun'(Eccl 1), the Sunday liturgy points to the day when 'God will make all things new' (Rev 21)!Though written from an Orthodox perspective, it will find ready resonance from Christians across the board, especially those from a liturgical background and are attuned to how the sacraments work and what they are meant to be - as the intersections of heaven and earth as well as the physical signs of a larger objective spiritual reality.However, a caveat for those looking for a simpler introduction to Orthodox sacramental theology, this may not be the book for you. While articulate and clear a writer Schmemann certainly is, he does not make for straightforward reading, as it assumes a certain level of familarity with liturgical (even Orthodox) language and he writes with a quasi-poetic style. I would recommend instead the introductory books by Timothy Ware and Daniel Clendenin.

A classic work of the 20th century. Would recommend to Christians of all 'stripes', but certainly, of course, for Orthodox Christians.

This book is so deep and far-reaching in terms of illustrating a Christian worldview which is distinctively Orthodox that I don't know where to begin. It is as fundamental a shift as atomic theory was in physics. For the Life of the World challenges some classic dichotomies between "now" and "later", earth and heaven, secular and sacred. It's all the same *stuff*, we don't have to wait until later to experience the Kingdom - it's present NOW, in the sacraments. We don't have to view sacraments in opposition to the world, they are the completion of it, the satiation of a hunger for GOOD things.This book is comforting, challenging, and stimulating... and has refined my perspective on life, the world, worship, and the sacraments. A blessing to read that I plan to gift to close friends.

The late Orthodox Priest, educator, and writer, Alexander Schmemann has written a profound text dealing with the sacarments of the Church. The book works on several fronts.One, the text works well for laity who have little academic training, but want a truly deeply provoking book on the sacramental and liturgictal life of the Church. Secondly, it is written well enough for academics to read and pondure insightful scholarship on doctrines such as the Eucharist and its revelance when looking at the creation, man's present condition, and the Kingdom of God. Further, it gives a perspective not often read about in Western Protestant circles and brings historical tecahings into a mystical, yet, understandable (though not completely comprehendable) way. This may appeal to Western Christians who want mystery, but are afraid of leaviing there mind at the door.This book is a must read. Edifying for all, whether Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox.
