Just a quick read of Random Psalms and such...less than a minute to read with a section for how your going to act based on the Psalm you read...Its the word of G-d ...but you have to read it and act upon it. Not your avg self help type book!
This is a great package for someone seeking a clear and straight forward guide to follow as they seek a greater spiritual growth over the time span of the book. The layout is inviting and strong in the intent perceived. The simple easy to follow design does not require someone to need additional research tools and books to receive the guidance presented. The presentation is interesting in that each page can stand alone as its own thought provoking exercise and meditation. Each page is presented with a scripture, challenging questions to provoke thought, and a notes section to write how that day will be aligned for the reader to the information on the page. This is a great quick guide to begin a focused journey or to reinvigorate a spiritual walk that may have waned. Great resource.

I came across the devotional while browsing amazon and I was intrigued enough by the title to buy it. I am glad I did as it turned out to be exactly what I needed. While I was at seminary it was apparent to me that modern christianity was in the midst of an identity crisis given the cultural upheavals of the age. The big question, "What does it mean to be a soldier of Christ?" This devotional with laser focus reminds me daily that Jesus promised that there will be conflict and we will overcome. The ability to journal my notes in each page adds an additional value for me.
I have been looking for an inspirational devotional book for some time that wasn't so "PC". This is the best devotional out there. If you are military or police it is definitely the one for you. If you are the every day man that is tired of people attacking your faith, then you need this. The verses the author picked are so moving and are not just geared to push you threw the day, but they motivate you to fight against whatever evil comes your way. Whether it's spiritual war or physical war, this devotional will help you through it.
