I use Ray Holder's exam prep for my Texas journeyman prep. Basically, I did all of his practice exams, taking time to understand HOW to perform each question was presented and performed. Great introductory book on the basic fundamental principals necessary to effectively vision, , "construct" , and articulate the framework of real estate development project to various project contributors, stakeholders, and investors.

It's very new. The paper is good and it is a hardcover version. It fit my needs. Overall, it is a good textbook.

This book is very poorly written. The concepts are also organized in a very inefficient way which leads to lots of rambling.

i just can say good. although it has hard cover, but the insight of this book is fragile. i dont think this book can be hold for a long time. good news is this book seems only has one edition. so, don't worry about sell it again.

This edition builds on that legacy with updated coverage of electronic information systems and thoroughly revised (vastly improved) coverage of marketing and market analysis. However, Development is still not an easy read; adjectives like ponderous, academic, and stodgy still apply!Development is structured around an Eight Stage Model, prefaced by ~200 pages of introductory material about developers, development environments, development finance, and real estate development in the United States. The authors emphasize several themes:* The interplay between markets, marketability, and feasibility: Development recognizes thatprojects must be feasible for all of their constituencies to be feasible for the developer.* The role of public and political interaction and goal congruity in the process: Development extends James Graaskamp's thoughts on development as socio-political activity.* The necessity for coherent risk-management and exit strategies at every step of the process:Development emphasizes the development process as (simultaneously) a business activity, a prelude to property management, and an integral part of asset/portfolio management strategy.At core, Development is about process. Each successive step of the model applies: increasingly sophisticated analysis or procedures to ~ increasingly specific and refined data in order to ~ match resource commitments to ~ the "go forward" decision's inherent risk and "reversibility." It is a monumental tour-de-force of development with unrivaled breadth and depth.Development can also serve as a reference and how-to guide for practicing developers and their advisors - no matter how sophisticated we think we are already. The bibliographic material,references to printed and electronic data sources, and the authors' analysis of the data's limitations are enough to justify keeping a copy of Development close by - though you may have to reinforce your bookcase just to be on the safe side!---------------------------------------------------A (minor) quibble about style: Development's prose is turgid, its sentence structure convoluted. {We counted 8 subordinate clauses in one (not atypical) sentence that continued for 24 half-column lines.} The authors are inordinately fond of "laundry list sentences" - multiple nouns, separated by even more numerous adjectives, strung together by a plethora of commas, colons, semi-colons and "and/ors," with nary a verb or a period in view (kind of like this sentence). The authors wrote much of the book in passive voice (an unequivocal breach of Strunk and White's law for effective prose). Net effect, Development is a difficult read! The authors' style (or lack thereof) masks their often startling insights into the development process.

The Kindle edition contains numerous proofreading errors. Many are minor, but some errors unfortunately are material and affect the utility of the book. The latter type include, for example, failing to list ingredients and failing to specify the quantity of an ingredient. And we aren't talking salt and pepper here. So, if I'm making, say, a spinach and basil pesto, I'd appreciate the author's original thoughts to at least ballpark the quantities of spinach and basil we're using. I don't make pesto often, and basil can be overpowering. I'd have to do a Google search to fix that particular recipe. Other recipes contain similar proofreading mistakes .Anyway, the Kindle edition still needs editing work before it can be of maximum value to the purchaser.My only other gripe: the author suggests using canned ingredients, like pasta sauce, cream of mushroom soup, etc. Suggesting canned ingredients rather obviates the need for a cookbook in the first place, no? Or am I wrong here?

I was looking forward to getting this cookbook, because I just bought a Presto electric skillet and wanted some skillet recipes. As I was reading through it, I found misspelled words, it's hard to believe this was published, I put it down. Maybe I'll pick it up again later, but probably not. I really didn't learn anything new reading the recipes that I read. The few pictures that are in this book are all black and white too.

I'd much rather give positive reviews, but I'm afraid I won't be able to this time. This title doesn't seem to be formatted as an e-book, so it's hard to navigate -- the TOC's clickable links were only for the chapter headings, not individual recipes, and if you click on one, you can't click on anything in your destination to return to the TOC. Huge amount of (unnecessary) page-flipping! Hard to imagine an e-book without plenty of clickable links, but this one is like that. And I was astonished to see no back-of-book index -- a must in any reference work, including a recipe book. Other quick thoughts, and again, I don't usually like to leave negative reviews, but I think other readers should know these things: 1. Far more info than I'll ever want to know about marinades in a book that is supposed to be about something else. 2. While the full history of the electric skillet, including development of non-stick cookware, was of mild interest, it should have been in the back of the book. 3. Plenty of recipes, but there were enough typos throughout the book, and typos and skimpy instructions for the recipes, to make me hesitant about trying them, although I might someday -- carefully. 4. What I wanted the book for was to get an expanded set of instructions for my skillet -- specifically, techniques for baking and roasting foods in the skillet. There was nearly no information about these subjects. But, being an e-book, the price was low enough that I'm not thinking about a return.

I have requested a refund. There are errors and typos in some recipes, which is quite concerning in a cookbook, where trust is important. This book may be self-published. There is no clear way indicated to contact either the author or the publisher for clarification. Web site mentioned in book did not take me anywhere when I searched. I am really disappointed.

Not worth the money. Incomplete directions with many recipes. Poorly written with lots of typos. Surprised it was allowed to be printed.

Purchased this skillet for cooking while rv_ing. Now I have a cook book with some very interesting recipes.Some instructions are confusing (peel potatoes- no slicing instructions - then place potatoes in skillet - whole? - I presume sliced).Thank you for this book and your time compiling it.

In all my years of buying books I have never been so disappointed by a book. As stated by previous reviewers I found this to be poorly written, badly edited and a complete waste of time. Recipes are incomplete at best, and contain inaccurate information. Horrible waste of time and money. I WANT A REFUND!!!

Very few photos of the finished dish, and those are in black and white, could have been done better. If you never used an electric skillet it's helpful.

This book on Allen Iverson just came far too soon.Allen Iverson is my favorite current NBA player partially b/c he shakes up the status quo -- not necessarily because he wants to make that his objective, but quite poetically, he's doing it just by being true to who he is.This book is a tale about a kid from the wrong side of the tracks, that basically struck it rich but admirably remains "the same" as opposed to "assimilating" just to make his economic & financial counterparts feel comfortable around him.No true criticism of Larry Platt's writing style. If he wanted to go deep into Allen Iverson's undocumented youth and youth exploits, that's fine too.Bottom line is this book, while it has several defining moments, just isn't a compelling enough read because it was written still TOO SOON.A.I., love him or hate him, totally revolutionized the NBA and the image it projected to Middle America.I'd love to read a book about his life when he's 50, 60 or 85.I'm sure he'll be on "60 Minutes" doing a "My Life & times" segment.Whoever writes the book about his life just before that interview will surely have a No. #1 best-seller.

its the best selling book about allen iverson out there. im a die hard iverson fan so just the fact that this book was written was a positive thing for me. tells the story of his struggle, and the struggle of his friends and associates growing up. he's had a hard past but still entertained millions with his talents. the guy is a legend. 'nuff said

Got this for my dad for christmas... he claims he read it, but I seriously doubt it... According to him "it was great" but he didnt give me any more details...

I love reading and will nearly always pick reading over watching. Therefore when I do watch something I’m very selective that said I’ve seen everything the Coen brothers have done.For me this book was an informative look into their lives and how they started down this road. I’m not saying there’s much here for diehard fans or people looking for a more in-depth look. But for a fan of their films who previously knew very little about them I found it interesting.I discovered how they started a lawn mowing business to earn the $400 required to buy Vivatar super-8. And their film making career was launched.There’s some lovely pictures and quotes and as a huge fan of their films I really enjoyed it. Talking of their films I’ve been trying to narrow the list and pick my favourite but I’ve decided it’s an impossible task.I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Aurum Press.

The Coen Brothers by Ian Nathan is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in late January.Being a fan and fellow Minnesotan, I was excited for this book, its photography, and perhaps gentle analysis of the Coen Brothers' films, but I draw a thick, wary line at Nathan insinuating that St Louis Park (once referred to a St Louis when talking about their junior high school) is 'nearby' Brainerd when they're at least 120 miles apart, uneven syntax (particularly straight-up sentences inside of parentheses if something is vaguely apropos), and hit or miss photos (off-topic, on-topic, or not appearing at all). So, yeah, a kind gesture and respectful toward these filmmakers, but frustrating.

I enjoyed reading this book about one of my favorite director/writers. The book chronologically presents the Coen Brothers from their beginnings in Minnesota to their latest movie. I really enjoyed many of the behind the scenes stories. The text includes a lot of wonderful photographs. Anyone who loves movies will enjoy this book.

Before I even opened this book I was in love with the cover! It will be going on my shelf facing out so I can look at it. It comes in a slip cover box. Then....it gets better...the quotes! A page turner of quotes along with the photos are simply fabulous. A great resource of all their work.

When people ask me what my favorite movies are, I list off directors instead...and the Coen Brothers are at the top of my list. I have seen every one of their movies multiple times. They are brilliant writers and directors in my opinion and if they are involved in a film then they can have all my movie-watching money.The Coen Brothers: The iconic filmmakers and their work is a self-explanatory title that tells you exactly what you're going to get when you open the cover. It offers a biography of Joel and Ethan Coen, shares insight into family dynamics, covers pretty much all of their movies in chronological order, summarizes the storylines, talks about the inspirations - how the setting or events relate to real-life experiences, discusses the importance of particular scenes, incorporates reasoning behind actor choices, gives a look inside the business of filmmaking, and so forth. Overall, this book shed new light on the various films which I wholeheartedly appreciated. I suppose you can spend a few hours researching this information on your own but the author has already organized all of it in this one place with vibrant photographs on almost every page to serve as visual aids. The result is a very deserving centerpiece for any fan's coffee table or bookshelf.As I write this review, Christmastime is closing in and although the appropriate activities are listening to seasonal music, baking cookies, and wrapping gifts, all I can think about right now is watching some sort of overcomplication of humanity's flaws and all the blood-soaked Minnesota evil I can muster. I’ve been a fan of the Coen brothers since watching Blood Simple many years ago, indeed I loved the film so much that I pestered the guy in my local video store to give me the poster off his wall. Ian Nathan follows their career from their early Super 8 movies right up to present day and has sound bites from people closest to them.
